[2/13] SKB asked BMT samples with OTP.
ALT wants to know Foxconn has experience on OTP programming on other model and
how long it takes to develop OTP function.
Foxconn has experience on Secure boot. After fusing, Foxconn can change boot loader with
their special key. And Foxconn can make non-secure STB to secure STB by OTA.
AML Secure boot feature will check by ALT(it comply on SKB requirement).

Foxconn use Secure boot feature, and has experience about it.
Secure boot will be execute form MP, not DVT.
But BMT samples shoud be prepared with secure boot.
STB with non-secure boot can be updated to secure boot via OTA, but it is not recommaned.

Hi Mr. Yoon,

I just got Amlogic's information. They mentioned that there are some failure cases when box with non-secure boot is upgraded to secure boot via OTA.
So I would like to let you know if DVT's samples are prepared without secure boot, and all DVT samples will have to be upgraded to support secure boot by USB buring tools.

If DVT stage will start from 4/18, you have to reply me one week ahead so that we can well prepare FW for manufacturing for DVT samples.

Hi Jacky,

I would like to know as follows :
1. After make STB to be secure(OTP Programmed), can we change Boot loader ?
2. Can we make SW upgrade file for both secured STB and non-secured STB ?
3. Any other restriction for secured STB ?
SKB wants to use DVT sample as secured.

If there is any restriction for secured STB, then we would like to make secured STB.

Hi Mr. Yoon,

  1. Yes
  2. We plan to provide only secured STB and will provide secure boot key to you and ALT need to secure this key and have agreement or contract with other 3rd parties. For those non-secured STB, using Amlogic's burining tool can flash secure FW to those EVT boxes.
 3. As I know it is no any restriction. If there exists any restriction, I will let you know.
